New Features Of Ios 16 Not Available For All Iphones

Apple Is Currently Working On A Major Update For The Iphone And Ipad. Ios 16 Was First Shown At WWDC 2022, Which Took Place In Early June. The First Innovations That The Update Should Bring Are Already Known.

Apple likes to share news about its software at its big developer conference, WWDC. It happened on June 6th of this year. In addition to iOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS 13, and tvOS 16 were also in the spotlight. But the first details, especially about the iPhone operating system, started to come out. TECHBOOK lets users know what to look forward to.

Ios 16 – This Is New

The latest news about iOS 16 comes not only from WWDC but also from Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, who has made a name for himself in the past by making accurate predictions about Apple. In his “Power on” newsletter, he often gives a sneak peek at the next iPhone update. He said that Apple is working on iOS 16, which has the code name Sidney. It won’t have the big visual changes that some people were hoping for, but it will have some new features and improvements. Gurman himself says that there are “pretty significant improvements all around,” such as an update to notifications and new ways to track health. But he doesn’t say anything more. Gurman says that iOS will be a pretty big change all around.

Ios 16 Apparently Brings New Lock Screen And Always On

Gurman says that some of the biggest changes in iOS 16 should be seen on the lock screen. It looks like Apple has big plans for this that should make it even easier and more convenient to use. This also applies to wallpapers that work like widgets. So, you could also give the locked iPhone access to certain services and information.

But the always-on mode, which should finally come to the iPhone with iOS 16, gets a lot of attention. It’s been talked about for a long time, and at first, people thought it would be in the iPhone 13. But there was no function until now. Now, Always on will be available for the first time on the next generation of iPhones, but only on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max at first. Always on is a feature that only OLED displays have. Important information, like the time, date, or upcoming appointments, as well as incoming messages, are shown in white letters on the dark display. Very little energy is needed for this kind of display. Always on has been around for years on Android phones, like Samsung phones.

Will Ios 16 Get A New Interface?

The interface of iOS hasn’t changed much in the past few years. The last big change came with iOS 14, when widgets were added to the home screen. Because of this, a lot of iPhone users are hoping for a new update that will make the software feel like a breath of fresh air. But Gurman says that with iOS 16, this is not the case. In terms of multitasking, iPadOS 16 would be the only way to make the surface even better.

The LeaksApplePro leaker, who posted a picture of the new interactive widgets that are supposed to be coming to the iPhone with the new firmware, has a different opinion.

Which Iphones Will Get Ios 16?

Most likely, the first beta of iOS 16 will be available on June 6. But the firmware won’t be official until the fall, when Apple shows it off along with the iPhone 14. iOS 16 is already on the iPhone 14 out of the box, and all other smartphones will get the new firmware through an update. But does this apply to which models?

Apple usually sends its new firmware to older iPhone models as well. But the French website iPhonesoft says that iOS 16 will only work on devices with at least an Apple A10 chip. That’s the iPhone 7 or a newer model. Models with the A9, such as the iPhone 6s and the first iPhone SE from 2016, would no longer work with iOS 16.

Full Functionality Not For All Models

But some of iOS 16’s new features won’t be available on older iPhone models that get the update. Some features need at least one A12 Bionic chip, which is built into the iPhone XR and nowhere else. Especially affected are video functions like the automatic recognition of text in video still images and the ability to add emojis through Siri’s language assistant. Image search should also be a little bit better with iOS 16, but older models like the iPhone 8 won’t get it.

Also, you need at least an iPhone 11 to use the new live captions feature. There are also small changes to the camera app that are only available on iPhone 13 models. In the future, you will be able to use depth of field in portrait mode. But this option is not on other iPhones.
